The United Veterans Council of San Diego County (The UVC) is an alliance of Veterans and over 200 organizations that are either Congressionally Chartered Veteran Service Organization or providers of services and support to Veterans.
The UVC provides a forum for sharing information and raising ideas that can lead to the betterment of the Veteran community; and provides a unified Veterans’ position and advocacy on legislation, policies, and practices affecting San Diego County Veterans and their families. UVC is open and inclusive, and its Members and Member Organizations enjoy the opportunity to share the works and rewards of the UVC, without obligation to accept any formal responsibility or allegiance.
At our monthly meetings we enjoy the participation of all Federal, State, and Local government agencies whose mission is to serve Veterans, and we receive the personally presented reports from the directors of all those agencies, as well as regular reports from elected members of the Congress, the state legislature, and from county and municipal officials; while we retain firmly non-partisan practices and publications. This powerful feature of all UVC General Sessions is unique to any open monthly forum and is admired by other Veteran communities nation-wide as a goal for their own associations. All Veterans, elected officials, the press, and interested parties are invited to attend General Sessions. Meetings are held at the Veterans Museum and Memorial Center 2115 Park Blvd, San Diego.
